Joseph Warren Stilwell was a general of the US Army who served at the Chinese Burmese Indian Theater during World War II. One of the earliest American folk heroes in World War II for leading an army leaving Burma chased by the victorious Japanese, his relentless request for weakened units to become ill. sent to fierce combat had frustrated Merrill Marauders with it.
