Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd is a British comedian, singer and occasional actor. He is described as "the entertaining artist of the last great music hall", and is best known for his live performances. As a permanent resident of Knotty Ash in Liverpool, Dodd's career as an artist began in the mid-1950s. Its performances include the fast, non-stop delivery of surreal jokes that occur often and will last for a few hours, often after midnight. His verbal and physical humor was complemented by his red, white and blue "tick stick", and often presented with his signature upbeat salute: "I feel tickled!" He alternates comedy with songs, both serious and comical, and with his original specialty, talking belly up. He also had a number of successful singles primarily as a ballad singer in the 1960s, and at times played dramatic roles. He has performed on radio and television and popularized the Diddy Men characters.
