Ko Wen-je
Ko Wen-je, also known as Ko P, is a Taiwanese politician and physician. He has been mayor of Taipei since 2014 and chairman of the Taiwan People's Party since 2019. Before becoming mayor, he was a doctor at the National Taiwan University Hospital. He is also a professor at National Taiwan University University of Medicine, specializing in trauma, intensive care, organ transplantation, oxidation of the body's outer membrane and artificial organs. Due to his career, he has the nickname Ko P or KP. Was not responsible for standardizing organ transplant procedures in Taiwan and was the first doctor to bring ECMO to Taiwan. Aside from his practice, Ko is also known for his numerous media appearances and interviews as a social and political commentator. In the 2014 Taipei mayoral election, Ko ran as an independent candidate.
