Sir Leonard Hutton is an English cricketer who played as the opening thief for the Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1934 and 1955 and for England in 79 test matches from 1937 to 1955. He set a record in 1938 for the highest individual counts in a test match in his sixth experimental appearance, scoring 364 points ahead of Australia, a milestone that spanned nearly 20 years. After World War II, he was the backbone of the British baton.
