Leonard Randolph Wilkens is a former American basketball player and National Basketball Association coach. He was featured three times at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Fame Hall, first in 1989 as a player, as a coach in 1998 and in 2010 as part of the 1992 US Olympics, of which he is the assistant coach. . He also took the lead in 2006 in the College Basketball Fame Hall. Wilkens is a player who won the NBA All-Star 13 times as a player and head coach, was NBA coach of the year 1993, won the NBA championship in 1979 as head coach of Seattle SuperSonics and Olympic gold medalist as head coach of the United States men's basketball team in 1996. During the 1994-95 season, Wilkens set the coach record for the most victories in NBA history, the record he holds when he retires with 1,332 wins. Wilkens is currently second on the list, beating Gregg Popovich; again, behind Don Nelson, who broke it in 2010 .
