Breaking Benjamin is an American rock band from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, founded in 1999 by singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley and drummer Jeremy Hummel. The group's early lineup also included guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark Klepaski. The band released two albums, Saturate and We Are Not Alone, before Hummel was replaced by Chad Szeliga in 2005. The band released two more studio albums, Phobia and Dear Agony, before ending the tow. Long in early 2010 due to recurrent Burnley's disease. In the middle of a hiatus, the release of a compilation album, Shallow Bay: The Best of Breaking Benjamin, illegally by Burnley, caused legal problems in the group, leading to the sacking of Fink and Klepaski. Szeliga then announced his departure in 2013, citing a difference in creativity.
