Maurice Leitch is an author born in Northern Ireland. Leitch's works include novels, short stories, television series, screenplays, and radio and television documentaries. Her first novel was The Liberty Lad, published in 1965. His second novel, Poor Lazarus received the Guardian Fiction Prize in 1969 and Silver's City won the Whitbread Prize in 1981. Leitch taught at Antrim elementary schools for several years before joining BBC Northern Ireland in 1960 as a private way is the producer / writer.
