Ollan Conn Cassell was an American sprinter in the 1950s and 1960s, winning a gold medal in men's 4 × 400m relay at the 1964 Summer Olympics. In the early 30s, Cassell followed That becomes the CEO of the Amateur Athletics Union. Currently, he is Assistant Professor of Olympic Sports History at the University of Indianapolis and President of the Indiana Olympic Athletes Association. Cassell was born in Nickelsville, Virginia. He graduated from Appalachia High School in Appalachia, Virginia. Cassell won his first AAU Championship title in 1957 for 220 years. Cassell traveled a quarter mile while studying at the University of Houston. In 1962, he won the gold medal in the 400m relay and the content of the 4 × 400 m relay and a silver medal in the content of the 4 × 100 m relay at the World Military Championship. The following year, at the 1963 Pan American Games, Cassell won two gold medals in the relay race and placed second in the 200m and sixth in the 100m.
