Patrice Louise Rushen is an American R&B pianist and music singer. She is also a composer, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, musician and music director. Her 1982 single "Forget Me Nots" received a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. The instrument "Number One" on her album Straight from the Heart earned an additional Grammy nomination for Best Instrument. His 12th Signature album also received a Grammy nomination for Best Instrument in 1998. Rushen is also an Ambassador for the Arts in Education at the Berklee College of Music and Head of the Popular Music Program at the USC Thornton School of Music.
