Patricia Highsmith is an American novelist and short story writer widely known for her psychological horror work, including her five-novel series starring Tom Ripley's character. She has written 22 novels and many short stories over a career spanning nearly five decades, and her work has resulted in more than two dozen film adaptations. His work stems from the influence of existential literature and challenges notions of popular identity and morality. She was dubbed the "poet of fear" by the novelist Graham Greene.
