Paul Dirac
Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac is an English theoretical physicist considered one of the most important physicists of the twentieth century. Dirac made fundamental contributions to the early development of quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics. Among other discoveries, he formulated the Dirac equation describing the behavior of fermions and predicting the existence of antimatter. Dirac shared the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics with Erwin Schrödinger "for discovering new types of productive efficient atomic theories". He also made remarkable contributions to the reconciliation of general relativity with quantum mechanics. Dirac was considered an unusual figure by his friends and colleagues. In a letter to Paul Ehrenfest in 1926, Albert Einstein wrote about Dirac: “I have a problem with Dirac. The balance on the dizzying path between genius and madness is awful. In another letter he wrote: 'I don't understand Dirac at all. "
