Peter Alexander Greenlaw Quaife is an English musician, artist and author. He was the founding member and original bassist of the Kinks from 1963 to 1969. He also sang accompaniment on some of their records. Quaife formed a group called Raven in 1963 with brothers Ray and Dave Davies. In late 1963 or early 1964, they changed their name to Kinks. The group recorded a number of big international hits throughout the 1960s.
