Sir Peter Brian Medawar is a British writer and biologist whose research has been refusing to implant and exploring whether immune tolerance is the foundation of medical practice in tissue and endothelial organs. For his scientific work, he is considered the "father of transplantation". He is remembered for his humor both in humans and in famous works. Famous zoologists like Richard Dawkins call him "the witty of all scientific writers" and Stephen Jay Gould "the smartest man I have ever known". Medawar is the youngest child of a Lebanese father and an English mother, both Brazilian and British nationals since birth. He studied at Marlborough College and Magdalen College, Oxford, as well as professor of zoology at the University of Birmingham and University College London. Until he was partially disabled from a cerebral infarction, he was director of the National Institute for Medical Research at Mill Hill.
