She started performing in Australia in the late 1980s and released her first full studio album in 1991. She signed with ForeFront Records in 1993, releasing her first record on a major label the following year. Saint James rose to prominence in the late 1990s with his golden album God and Pray certified by the RIAA, whose following album won the 1999 Grammy Award for best gospel rock album and holiday album for Christmas. The albums produced several singles, including "God", "Go and Sin No More" and "Pray". Since then, she has established herself as one of the most prominent music artists in contemporary Christian music, with four other full studio albums: Transform, Worship God, If I had One Chance to Tell You. Something and I Will Praise You.
