Roger De Coster is a former Belgian professional motorcyclist and currently director of sports engines for KTM and Husqvarna North America. De Coster's name is almost synonymous with motor racing, winning five motocross world championships in the 1970s and reaching a record 36 times the 500cc Grand Prix. His stature is in auto racing that he is often referred to simply as "the man". As a team leader, he was the captain of the first American team to win the Motocross of Nations title in 1981. De Coster was introduced into the AMA Motorcycle Fame Hall in 1999. Cycle News motorcycle magazine named him the Motocrosser of the Century in 2000. In 2010, he was named the FIM Legend for your motorcycle driving achievements.
