Rostom Sipan "Ross" Bagdasarian, known as David Seville, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer and actor best known for forming the Alvin and the Chipmunks animation group. Originally a theater and movie actor, he became famous in 1958 with songs "Witch Doctor" and "The Chipmunk Song", both of which became Billboard number one singles. He produced and directed The Alvin Show, which aired on CBS in 1961–62.
