Samuel David Wyche is an American professional football player and coach. He served as Cincinnati Bengals player and head coach and San Francisco 49ers defender coach. As head coach, he led the Bengals to Super Bowl XXIII, a game they lost to 49ers 20-16, giving up the lead in a last-minute touch. He is also known to have made use of the crime of not reuniting as a standard offense. Wyche coached Cincinnati from 1984-91, and his 64 wins against the Bengals were the most left behind by the coach in franchise history until he was overtaken by Marvin Lewis in five. 2011. Wyche also plays for the Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions and St. Louis Cardinals. . He has also trained at the University of South Carolina and Indiana University, as well as for the San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills.
