Shannon Lynn Szabados is a Canadian professional ice hockey racer for the PWHPA and the Canadian Women's National Ice Hockey Team. Szabados played for MacEwan Griffins University and the Alberta College Athletics Conference's NAIT Ooks men's hockey team from 2007 to 2013. Szabados was the first female tennis player in a number of different leagues and in several tournaments, including junior, junior and professional hockey. . While playing junior hockey, Szabados became the first woman to appear in the Western Hockey League, where she played the exhibition game for the American Tri-City. Szabados was also the first woman to play in the Alberta Children's Hockey League and made her mark in her first game. After the 2006-07 season Szabados was named AJHL's best goalkeeper. During the 2013-2014 season, Szabados became the first woman to sign and participate in the Southern Professional Hockey League.
