Yūne Sugihara, born Yasuhiro Sugihara, better known by the stage name Sugizo, is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, composer and record producer. He has been the lead guitarist and violinist of rock band Luna Sea since 1989. Sugizo began his solo career in 1997 and has since collaborated with various artists. In 2007 he became a member of the international trance / world music group Juno Reactor and the Japanese super rock band S.K.I.N., and in 2009 he officially joined the rock band X Japan. He is also a member of the hallucinogenic group Shag and the shamanic electronic unit S.T.K. As well as being known for experimenting with a variety of musical genres, primarily rock, psychedelic, and electronics, he is also known for his political views and an anti-war, anti-nuclear, and environmental activist.
