Thomas Michael Disch is an American science fiction writer and poet. It won the Hugo Award for Best Related Book - formerly known as "Best Nonfiction Book" - in 1999, and he has two other nominations for Hugo and nine nominations for the same Nebula Prize. name with John W. The Campbell Memorial Prize, a Rhysling Prize and two Seiun Awards, among others. In the 1960s, his work began to appear in science fiction journals. The critically acclaimed sci-fi novels The Genocides, Camp Concentration and 334 were major contributions to the New Wave sci-fi movement. In 1996 his book The Castle of Sloth: On Poetry, his poet and poet was nominated for the National Book Critics' Award, and in 1999 Disch won the Fiction Hugo Award for Our Dreams, a contemplative work on the impact of science fiction on our culture, as well as the Michael Braude Award for Verse of Light.
