Sir Wesley Winfield Hall is a former Barbadian cricketer and politician. A tall, strong and powerful man, Hall is a true nimble bowler and despite playing for a long time, he is known for his ability to play long spells. Hall played 48 test matches for the West Indies between 1958 and 1969. Hall's inaugural partnership with Barbadian colleague Charlie Griffith was a hallmark of strong West Indian teams throughout the 1960s. Hall was one of the most famous cricketers of his time. and is particularly well known in Australia, where he played two Sheffield Shield seasons with Queensland. Wicket goalkeeper / batter as a schoolboy, Hall didn't start fast bowling until it was relatively late. He was included in the West Indies squad to visit England in 1957 after playing only one first class cricket match. He debuted an experimental cricket match against India in 1958 and was immediately successful. He passed a treble test in Pakistan in 1959, being the first West Indian cricketer to do so.
