Lucy in the Sky had its world premiere at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2019, and was theatrically released in the United States by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on October 4, 2019. The film received negative reviews from critics and was a box-office bomb, grossing mere $325,950 against its $21.4 million budget.
