The song was written by Johan Åberg and Paul Rein, with Christina Aguilera, Ron Fair, C. Blackmon, R. Cham, E. Dawkins, Shelly Peiken, and Guy Roche contributing to a re-recorded version. Lyrically, it sees Aguilera eyeing a prospective boyfriend. Upon its release, "Come on Over Baby" achieved international commercial success.
