Denis "Piggy" D'Amour is a Canadian guitarist. D'Amour was a member of Canadian heavy metal band Voivod from its founding in 1982 until his death from colon cancer in 2005 at the age of 45. D'Amour's approach to music is anarchic and experimental rather than rigorous and theoretical. He trained in classical violin when he was a child. He has been influenced by progressive rock artists such as King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Rush.
