Michael Berenstain is an American writer and illustrator of children's books. As the son of Stan and Jan Berenstain, he continued the Berenstain Bears photo book series that his parents opened in 1962. Berenstain was born in Philadelphia. He studied at the Philadelphia College of the Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His first work in the Library of Congress catalog published in 1976: K'tonton on an Island in the Sea by Sadie Rose Weilerstein, which he illustrates is Michael Berenstain. K'tonton's third book, "Adventures of a Thumb-Sized Jewish Boy, who must fight while trapped on an island." Over the next three years he wrote and illustrated four photographic guides published by David McKay, The Castle Book and sequels on ships, armor and lighthouses. He first collaborated with his parents drawing illustrations for two picture books, Dinosaurs Day and After Dinosaurs, then he made books on dinosaurs himself.

This writer and illustrator is most known for his children's book The Castle Book and for continuing his parents' famed Berenstain Bears children's series. He also contributed to the picture book The Day of the Dinosaur.
