Anssi Kela is a Finnish singer and songwriter who has released six albums. During his career, Kela sold over 230,000 records in Finland. He received four Emma Awards in 2002. Anssi Kela comes from a family of musicians. Her late father was a keyboardist and musician in the gospel group Pro Fide, her mother a singer and her brother a drummer. Kela began her musical career playing a variety of string instruments, including violin, cello, and double bass. However, he is more interested in rock music and wants to play bass instead. At the age of 13 in 1985, Kela formed a Yhdeksäs hetki gospel group with schoolmates. In the band, he plays bass and writes songs. After the band gave up gospel music and changed its name to Pekka ja susi. Kela started singing in the band and played bass. In 1993, the band won the "Finnish Rock Champion" competition and secured a recording contract with BMG. Their single album in 1994 was a failure. It includes a small hit "Karhun elämää".
