A member of the Antiquities Association and a philanthropist, who has awarded three Slade Professor of Fine Arts titles at Oxford and Cambridge, and at University College London, where he also grants scholarships to the University of London. the early founders of the Slade School of Arts in London, chaired by Professor Slade.
