Kai Michael Hansen is a guitarist and heavy metal singer. Hansen is the founder, guitarist and singer of power metal band Gamma Ray. He is also a co-founder and member of the German metal band Helloween. He is a leading power metal figure and has sold millions of albums around the world. He is considered the "godfather of power metal", which formed two famous groups in the genre. In 2011, he joined the group Unisonic with the participation of former Helloween singer Michael Kiske. Hansen and Kiske reunited with Helloween in 2017 for a world tour with all current members, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I and II.
