Oteil Burbridge is an American multi-instrumentalist, specialized in bass guitar, trained in jazz and classical music from an early age. He first came to prominence through the bass guitar during the resurgence of the Allman Brothers from 1997 to 2014, and was a founding member of the group Dead & Company. Burbridge is also a founding member of the Aquarium Rescue Unit and the Tedeschi Trucks Band, whose brother Kofi Burbridge is a keyboardist and flautist. He has worked with other musicians including Bruce Hampton, Trey Anastasio, Page McConnell, Bill Kreutzmann and Derek Trucks. Burbridge has been recognized for his ability to incorporate impromptu vocals into his impromptu solo bass tracks. Burbridge validates the effects and effects of Fodera, Modulus, Sukop and Dunlop.
