He also wrote a series of four autobiographical novels, In a Green Tree; a history book, The Fall of Rome; and some historical fiction. In March 2011, Locus announced that the copyrights to 29 Lafferty novels and 225 short stories had been sold. Literary property was quickly acquired by the magazine's non-profit organization, under the auspices of board member Neil Gaiman.
