It was released as the lead single from their fourth studio album Glory Days and entered at the top of the UK Singles Chart, becoming the band's fourth chart-topping single, spending three weeks at the top of the chart. Outside the United Kingdom, "Shout Out to My Ex" topped the charts in the Republic of Ireland and peaked within the top ten of the charts in Australia and New Zealand. The single received two Brit awards nominations, and gave Little Mix their first Brit Award win, winning British Single of the Year at the 2017 Brit Awards.
