Ingrid Backstrom is an internationally renowned professional skier from Seattle, Washington, USA. Backstrom graduated from Highline High School in Burien, Washington as an A-rated student, tri-sports athlete, and runner-up. In 2000, Backstrom graduated from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington with a BA in Geology. His brother, Arne Backstrom, died in a ski accident in 2010 at the age of 29. Backstrom entered the freeski stage with her performance in Matchstick Production's 2004 and 2005 Yearbooks The Hit List. Since then, she has starred in a number of other skiing films including Warren Miller's Impact, Mark Obenhaus's Seven Sunny Days from Steep Matchstick Production, Claim, In Deep, The Way I See It, Attack of La Nina, and Superheroes of Stoke. Backstrom was the only female to appear on Powder Magazine's Future Big Mountain Heroes in 2002
