The Kids of Degrassi Street is a Canadian children's television series and the first series in the Degrassi franchise. It follows the lives of a group of children living on Degrassi Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The series began as an annual series of after-school specials that aired on CBC Television annually from 1980 to 1982, and turned into a series when CBC ordered five new episodes that year. The series notably featured several actors that would later appear in Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High with different roles.
