Maya the Bee is the main character in The Adventures of Maya the Bee, a German book written by Waldemar Bonsels and published in 1912. A young bee named Maya leaves her home to go experience the beauty of the world around her. On her journey through the meadow she encounters the many other insects of the land. The computer-animated series was directed by Daniel Duda and Jêrome Muschadet.
