David Mello is an American musician best known for his work as the drummer for the powerful ska punk band Operation Ivy. Prior to Operation Ivy, Mello performed in various local bands in the Berkeley and Albany areas such as the Distorted Truth and Conspiracy Clerk During the formation of Operation Ivy, early live appearances Their first payoff took place in late May 1987. They performed for the first time in a garage in Albany, California, where Mello used frequently for his other music projects. That same weekend, Operation Ivy with Mello on drums made its debut at 924 Gilman Street.
