A high school with President of the United States aspirations must first take on the political landscape of Saint Sebastian High School. Each season of the Ryan Murphy-produced show would involve a different political race for protagonist Payton Hobart (Ben Platt).

Murphy created the show with Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. It was also executive produced by Platt and Gwyneth Paltrow. Sufjan Stevens' "Chicago" was the opening theme song for the series.
