John Lindsay
John Vliet Lindsay is an American politician and lawyer. During her political career, Lindsay served as a member of the United States Congress, mayor of New York, and presidential candidate. He is also a regular guest of Good Morning America. Lindsay was a member of the US House of Representatives from January 1959 to December 1965 and mayor of New York from January 1966 to December 1973. He moved from Republicans to Democrats in 1971, and began a brief and unsuccessful run for the Democratic presidential nomination of 1972 as well as the Democratic nomination of 1980 for Senator from New York. He died of Parkinson's disease and pneumonia on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina on December 19, 2000 .
