Astrology Birth Chart of Mirra Alfassa

Mirra Alfassa, called Mother by the disciples, was a spiritual guru, mystic and collaborator of Sri Aurobindo, who considered her to be of the same yogi stature and called her "Mother". She founded Sri Aurobindo Ashram and established Auroville as a global city; she has been an influencer and inspiration for many writers and spiritual figures on the subject of holistic yoga. Mirra Alfassa was born in 1878 in Paris to a bourgeois family. In her youth, she went to Algeria to practice occultism under Max Théon. After her return, while living in Paris, she led a group of spiritual seekers. In 1914, she traveled to Pondicherry, India and met Sri Aurobindo and found in him the "dark Asian figure" she had seen from childhood. During this first visit, she contributed to the publication of a French version of an Arya periodical, publishing most of Sri Aurobindo's post-political prose.

Alfassa is best recognized for her spiritual relationship with Sri Aurobindo, the famous yogi who, after studying with him, founded the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Her most famous work is The Agenda (alternative title: Mother's Agenda), a multi-volume spiritual journal that was published after her death.
