Edward Maufe
Sir Edward Brantwood Maufe, RA, FRIBA is an English architect and designer. He built private homes as well as commercial and institutional buildings, and is best known for his work in places of worship and memorials. Perhaps its most famous buildings are the Guildford Cathedral and the Air Force Monument. He received the Royal Gold Medal for Architecture in 1944 and in 1954 the knighthood of the Imperial War Graves Committee, and remained with him from 1943 until his death.
