Grant Masaru Imahara is an American electrical engineer, robotics host, television presenter and actor. He is known for his work in the television series MythBusters, in which he designed and built numerous robots and specialized in using computers and electronic equipment to test myths. Imahara started his career at Lucasfilm, where he worked in the THX department as an engineer and the Lighting & Magic Industry for visual effects. His works have been featured in franchises such as Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, and The Terminator. His first foray into television was in the BattleBots robot series, which he designed and competed against with his robot Deadblow and then returned as a judge. In 2005, Imahara joined the cast of Mythbusters as a member of the construction team, appearing in more than 200 episodes of the series until leaving in 2014.
