Manon Rhéaume is a retired Canadian ice hockey goalie. As an Olympic silver medalist, she made several historic firsts in her career, including becoming the first woman to play in one of the major professional sports leagues in North America. In 1992, Rhéaume signed for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, appearing in preseason exhibition games in 1992 and 1993. She spent 5 years playing professional mini-tournaments, playing for a total of 7 teams. and participated in 24 matches. She also played in Canada's National Women's Ice Hockey Team, won a gold medal at the IIHF World Women's Championships in 1992 and 1994, and silver at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games
