Marilyn Hacker is an American poet, translator and critic. She is an emeritus professor of English at City College in New York. His poetry collections include the National Book Award-winning Presentation Piece, Love, Death, The Change of Season, and Return to the River. In 2003, Hacker won the Willis Barnstone Translation Award. In 2009, she went on to win the PEN Prize for Poetry in Marie Étienne's Translation for the King of the Hundred Knights, which also won the Robert Fagles First Translation Award from the National Poetry Series. In 2010, she received the PEN / Voelcker Award for Poetry. She was shortlisted for the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation 2013 thanks to Rachida Madani's translation of The Story of a Decapitated Man.
