He was known as the guitarist and leader of the Mars Volta band from 2001 until their split in 2012, and as a guitarist for the alternative rock groups At the Drive-In, Antemasque and Bosnian Rainbows. He is also the bassist for voice group De Facto. He embarked on a solo career, both in studio and in concert, often referred to as experimental, pioneering and / or progressive.
