Jon Theodore
Jon Philip Theodore is an American drummer. He is best known as a former member of The Mars Volta and the current drummer of Queens of the Stone Age. Theodore is also a member of One Day as a Lion. Known for his explosive, multi-textured playing style, Theodore was a member of Golden and Royal Trux before joining The Mars Volta in 2001. Theodore remained active in the band for five years, recording three Theodore's debut studio album, De- Pushed to the Comatorium, Frances the Mute and Amputechture, before leaving at the request of guitarist and group Omar Rodríguez-López. Theodore then teamed up with Zack de la Rocha, the leader of Rage Against the Machine, titled One Day as a Lion, and performed on Incubus leader Brandon Boyd's solo album The Wild Trapeze. In 2012, Theodore replaced his Mars successor Volta Thomas Pridgen in the supergroup Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, though in 2015 the squad returned to Pridgen with drums.
