Randall Eugene "Randy" Bewley is a guitarist for Pylon from Athens, Georgia. Born in Bradenton, Florida, USA. He lived in Sarasota, Florida, Washington, DC and near Atlanta, Georgia during his childhood. Bewley attended the University of Georgia art school, where he met Michael Lachowski, another art student. They become roommates and decide to form a group. He and Lachowski, along with art students Vanessa Briscoe Hay and Curtis Crowe, founded Pylon, having their first exhibition in 1979. On their first trip to New York, they were reviewed in Journal Press Interview. Bewley is a very influential guitarist and has used the guitar to create not only musical notes but also interesting sounds. Pylon recorded three albums, three singles and an EP. The group opened for U2, R.E.M., B-52s, Talking Heads and Gang of Four. Pylon has split twice, but has reunited and still plays shows every now and then. Pylon Gyrate's debut album was reissued in October 2007 by DFA Records.
