Robert Southey
Robert Southey was an English poet of the Romantic school and won the Poet's Prize from 1813 until his death. Like other Lake poets, William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Southey started out as a radical, but gradually became more conservative, as he gained the respect of England and her institutions. Other romantics, notably Byron, accuse him of siding with the organization for money and status. He is primarily remembered as the author of the poem After Blenheim and the original version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
