Alan Ameche, Spitzname "Iron Horse" oder einfach "Horse", ist ein US-amerikanischer Fußballspieler, der sechs Saisons bei den Baltimore Colts in der National Football Federation gespielt hat. Er spielte College Football an der University of Wisconsin-Madison und gewann 1954 die Heisman Trophy in der Seniorensaison. In seinen ersten vier Saisons wurde er in den Pro Bowl gewählt. Er ist am besten dafür bekannt, dass er bei den NFL-Meisterschaften 1958 gegen die New York Giants ein Tor in der Verlängerung erzielte, das als "Das größte Spiel aller Zeiten" bezeichnet wurde. Gemeinsam mit Colts Kollegen und ehemaligen Teamkollegen Gino Marchetti gründete Ameche die Kette Gino's Hamburgers. Er gründete auch die in Baltimore ansässigen Ameche Drive-in Restaurants.
