Rasipuram Krishnaswami Iyer Laxman, besser bekannt als R. K. Laxman, ist ein indischer Animator, Illustrator und Komiker. Bekannt wurde er durch seine 1951 erschienene Arbeit The Common Man und das tägliche Comic You Said It in The Times of India. R. K. Laxman begann seine Karriere als Teilzeit-Karikaturist und arbeitete hauptsächlich für lokale Zeitungen und Zeitschriften. Als Student zeichnete er Illustrationen für die Geschichten seines Bruders R. K. Narayan in The Hindu. Seine erste Vollzeitbeschäftigung bestand darin, politische Cartoons für das Free Press-Magazin in Mumbai zu zeichnen.
