Alan Stuart Cheuse is an American writer, editor, literature professor and radio commentator. A longtime NPR book commentator, he is also the author of five novels, five collections of short stories and novels, a memoir and a collection of travel essays. Additionally, Cheuse is a regular contributor to All Things Considered. His short novels have appeared in respected publications such as The New Yorker, Plowshares, The Antioch Review, Prairie Schooner, among others. He has taught in the George Mason University Writing Program and the Squaw Valley Writers Community.
