Elwood Gordon Gee, known as E. Gordon Gee, is an American scholar. As of 2020, he is serving his second term as rector of the University of West Virginia; His first term was from 1981 to 1985. Gee has held more college presidents than any other American. He was director of the University of Colorado from 1985 to 1990, Ohio State University from 1990 to 1997, Brown University from 1998 to 2000, Vanderbilt University from 2000 to 2007, and Ohio State University for the time. Two from 2007 to 2013. Time ranked Gee as one of the top 10 university presidents in the United States for 2010. Gee resigned as president of the state of Ohio on July 1, 2013 , due to a series of controversies involving the remarks - Catholic comments, were supposed to tease the University of Notre Dame. He then headed a research group based in the state of Ohio before returning to the University of West Virginia.
